Sapient Senior Secondary Public School, Pinjore, organised a POCSO Awareness Programme and Legal Awareness Programme regarding NALSA Schemes to educate students about child safety, personal boundaries and the importance of protecting children from sexual abuse. 🛡️👧🏻👦🏻
The programme was graced by Shri Ajay Kumar Ghanghas, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Panchkula, and Ms. Megha Sharma, Pro-Bono Panel Advocate, DLSA Panchkula, who also represented DLSA Panchkula, as Chief Guests. 🌟⚖️
During the session, students were sensitised about the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and various other NALSA Schemes. 📚 They highlighted the importance of safeguarding children from sexual offences, recognising inappropriate behaviour, understanding personal boundaries and reporting unsafe situations to trusted adults.
🛡️🤝 They also emphasised that children have the right to live in a safe and secure environment and that awareness of their legal rights is essential for their protection. ❤️ They further informed students about the free legal services and legal aid available through DLSA Panchkula under these schemes. ⚖️📖
The programme aimed to empower students with essential knowledge about child protection laws and encourage them to speak up without fear whenever they encounter an unsafe situation. 🗣️💪 The session was informative and meaningful, reinforcing the importance of creating a safe, supportive and child-friendly environment. 🏫🌈
